My soap making process

How Each Bar Is Made with Care

When you pick up a bar of handmade soap, it might seem simple—but there’s actually a thoughtful process behind every single one.

For me, soap-making isn’t just about creating something that smells good. It’s about making a product that feels good on your skin and is made with intention from start to finish.

Everything begins with the ingredients. I carefully choose oils and butters known for their nourishing properties—like shea butter for moisture, olive oil for gentle cleansing, and glycerin to help your skin retain hydration. These form the foundation of each bar and play a big role in how the soap performs.

Once the ingredients are selected, I measure everything precisely. Consistency matters, especially when working in small batches. After that, the base is gently melted and blended to create a smooth, even mixture.

This is where the creative part begins.

I add fragrance—sometimes from essential oils, sometimes from high-quality fragrance oils—to create scents that are clean, balanced, and enjoyable without being overwhelming. Color is added when needed to give each bar its look, while still keeping things simple and intentional.

There are also times when small additives are used to improve the final product—whether that’s for texture, longevity, or overall performance. Every ingredient has a purpose, and nothing is added without a reason.

The mixture is then poured into molds and left to set. This part requires patience. There’s no rushing it if you want a quality result. As the soap hardens, it takes on its final shape and texture.

Once it’s ready, each bar is removed from the mold, checked for quality, and finished by hand. Some may need slight trimming or smoothing, but I keep the process as close to the natural form as possible.

Because everything is made in small batches, no two bars are exactly the same—and that’s part of what makes handmade soap special.

At the end of the process, what you get is more than just soap. You get something thoughtfully made, carefully crafted, and designed to be something you actually enjoy using every day.
